How separ8 handles data

This policy explains which data separ8 needs to process audio, provide accounts and shared mixes, measure reliability, and answer support requests.

Last updated

Audio uploads and generated stems

Uploaded audio and downloaded source audio are staged so the separation service can process them. Generated guest stems use temporary storage for browser playback and downloads.

Guest stems normally expire about one hour after processing. Automated cleanup removes temporary files that remain beyond normal job cleanup. Signed-in users can choose to keep completed sessions in protected storage.

Accounts and saved sessions

Account features use authentication records, profile information, monthly usage balances, saved-session metadata, and stored stems. Login cookies maintain the authenticated session.

Saved sessions and durable shared mixes remain available until removed through product controls, account cleanup, or a completed support request.

Shared mixes

A shared mix uses an unlisted public URL. Anyone with that URL may view its song label, mixer state, and available stems while the share remains active. Guest shares expire with temporary files; saved-session shares can remain active.

Reliability and product analytics

separ8 records operational events such as processing stages, failures, performance timings, and aggregate shared-mix activity. Shared-mix analytics use a one-way viewer fingerprint and do not store raw IP addresses in the event record.

Hosting, authentication, storage, processing, and download providers receive data needed to perform their part of the service.
